AWARD ELIGIBLITY
The Biji Alam Conservation Awards seeks to award local conservationists in both Peninsular and East Malaysia. We are looking for mid-career conservationists: people with both solid achievements and further plans worthy of public support.

Please note this Award does not provide research grants or scholarships.

-
The definition of conservation used by this Award is broad and we welcome innovation, but your activities need to address, in practical ways, the protection and/or restoration of species, biodiversity, habitats and/or landscapes/seascapes.
-
We are open to diverse approaches that include community engagement, applied research, public education, policy reform, habitat management, law enforcement, ecological restoration, improved land-use and innovative approaches in conjunction with conventional conservation solutions.
-
Applicants need to be Malaysian and be working with a registered NGO e.g. a society or CLBG.
-
Applicants can apply as individuals or as teams.
-
Applicants need to demonstrate they have proven experience and a track record of practical conservation accomplishments.
-
Applicants may or may not have formal academic conservation training, but should demonstrate deep knowledge of what they are seeking to conserve and a sound methodology as to how to achieve their aims. Your outcomes need to be measurable and presented in an empirical way.
-
Applicants should be able to communicate publicly the purpose and outcomes of their work in compelling ways, including making short, informal video presentations should they be successful. Winners will be expected to attend the award ceremony (travel expenses subsidised).
-
Have a thought through plan on how to use the award money to further their work
